(French, 1787-1843). Reclining nude male. Classical style Grand Tour bronze sculpture. “The Soldier of Marathon”. The original work is housed in the Louvre. Stamped “F. Barbedienne, Founder”. 15″ high x 17″ wide x 7 1/2″ deep. 19.6 lbs. Provenance: Estate of Alfred J. Walker, legendary art dealer and collector. Founder of Walker-Cunningham Fine Art. Good condition consistent with age and use.
