US World War 2 B-26 Marauder. One of the fastest bombers in the US Airforce. Built in California in 1945 and powered by two early spark engines made by McCoy #35. Miniature spark plugs. Bears the black and white invasion strips for D-Day June 1944. Acquired by Alan Gaines from its original builder who was told the model was built for his father in 1945. Rare flying model of a historic plane built in the period of its prototype’s use. 44″ long x 48″ wingspan. Good original condition with original tires, engines and markings and retaining 95% of its original paint. Unknown working condition.
