Levi Stevens, Master. From Palermo towards Boston. Mentions voyages from Boston to Havana in 1846; from Matanzas to Gibraltar, Leghorn to Palermo, then to Boston; Boston to Belfast, 1847. The log mostly mentions weather conditions but has several watercolor and pencil drawings of the ship and on the last page a detailed drawing of the American Naval 3-masted frigate RARITAN. The log contains 115 handwritten pages with excellent penmanship. 15 1/2″ high x 10″ wide. The pages show age appropriate wear including staining, foxing and minor tears. The spine is partially broken. The marbleized boards show substantial wear.
