Dated 1770. German language bible with the Martin Luther translation. 1181 pages. Bound in 18th C. flame stitch book jacket. Embroidered on spine reads: “The Holy Bible. Peter and Elizabeth Book. 1787”. 16″ high x 11″ wide x 5″ deep. Cover shows wear and fabric loss and was mounted on a later canvas lining with Velcro straps. Pages shows tanning, some staining and age appropriate wear.
