Ca. 1750. Possibly made in Mexico City. Mexico was important in the early China trade. Removable chest is wooden, covered in leather with black lacquer finish gilded design depicting figures in a garden. Finish and paint appear to be original. Chest is 10″ high x 20″ wide x 12″ deep. Stand is 12″ high x 21″ wide x 13″ deep. Chest is in good overall condition showing some loss to paint and minor loss on edges. The base shows an old repair to one foot and the medial stretcher is missing and shows minor chipping to interior ridge.
